Future Mentors Programme – 2022
Description
In 2022, I joined the Future Mentors Programme, where I became part of a European network of youth through Eurocities and where I mentored former mayor of Eindhoven John Jorritsma on the city of the future from the youth perspective.
Reflection
This programme was a very valuable learning experience for me. Working together with the municipality and feeling empowered by local politicians was something that gave me a feeling of fulfillment. I used design methods to spark creative thinking during the meetings with the mayor and during research amongst youth. I learnt the value of design methods and design thinking in tackling big societal questions like how to design the city of the future.
